At Hickory Nut Gap, we offer 3 covered event spaces and several outdoor areas where tents can be erected for additional space. All are open-air with gorgeous mountain views and a unique rustic country feel. The “Big Barn” is our largest event space with the capacity of hosting 200 guests (seated) to 300 guests (standing) for any special occasion. Our Big Barn event space was built in the sixties, originally intended as a dairy barn! In 1989 the dairy business retired and years later the barn was used to house the pig herd. Over time, the Big Barn became something entirely different: a place to house birthdays, weddings, pig pickins’, concerts, fall festivities and all manner of community gatherings. It became a place to celebrate. HNGF hopes that you enjoy your experience as we strive to make your event special and memorable. History Barn: The “History Barn” is an enclosed outdoor space with unmatched ambiance. Adorned on the walls are historical photos dating back to the early 1900’s when the farm first came into the family’s possession. The History Barn also houses our honey bee observation hive for guests to see these amazing little creatures in action without the risk of stings. When apples are in season, fresh pressed apple cider can be made and served through the pass through window to the rear of the space. The History Barn is a rustic but unique spot that will be memorable for hosts and guests alike. The space can comfortably accommodate 20-30 seated guests and up to 50 with standing room and cocktail tables. The Party Shed is our most popular venue space rental for smaller gatherings. This unique location boasts a quaint hillside covered patio space with a platform stage to one side. Fresh open air permeates throughout as the space opens to flat grounds butted up next to our babbling brook. Guests can frolic in the ankle deep water or enjoy the ample pasture space across the way. A perfect spot for children to play, this space also maintains a hillside children’s slide and adventure fort. The area is fenced in, good for little ones running wild, and adjoins our ample parking lot. This spot is ideal for the client that wants to have a space for sitting and eating fairly al fresco and enjoying nature.

Space heaters, sound system, audio/visual equipment available. Big Barn has a stage and dance floor for musical entertainment. On-site catering available. Covered space but open-air (not insulated).
