Danny Childs is the author of the 2024 James Beard Award-winning book Slow Drinks: A Field Guide to Foraging and Fermenting Seasonal Sodas, Botanical Cocktails, Homemade Wines, and More and founder of the namesake company. His book is a definitive guide to backyard mixology. The Slow Drinks Foraged Dinner features a 5-course dinner and paired beverages, each highlighting locally foraged ingredients. The beverages, a mix of high, low, and no alcohol cocktails, will feature creations by Danny Childs. The Appalachian-meets-Italian menu will be created by the chefs at Gemelli and Strada around locally foraged ingredients and inspired by the Slow Food Movement, which originated in Italy. Tickets are $175 and include 5 paired courses, tax & gratuity.
