2023 Dickens in the Village: December 1 and 2
A beautiful historic district in Asheville transforms for a weekend during the holidays, transporting you back in time to the days of Charles Dickens and A Christmas Carol.
On the first weekend of December (December 1-2, 2023), Historic Biltmore Village takes on new life as a quaint Victorian town for the Old World Dickens in the Village Festival. Biltmore Village is a unique shopping and dining destination in Asheville, located just outside of Biltmore Estate and just two miles from downtown. As you stroll the brick-lined streets of the Village during the festival, explore the many shops and galleries.
The Dickens in the Village festival is an immersive holiday experience featuring performances by more than two dozen strolling carolers, actors and musicians dressed in Dickensian era costumes.
Friday, Dec. 1
Roving carolers, performers and musicians will invoke the feelings of an old time Christmas all around the Historic Biltmore Village shopping district beginning at 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Craft market vendors will be on-site at the All Souls Cathedral grounds selling various crafts or delicious treats from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Cathedral doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for a night of Christmas Jazz at the Cathedral featuring Dr. Bill Bares, Zack Page and Alan Hall. The concert starts at 7 p.m. and ends around 9 p.m. There is a suggested donation at the door.
Saturday, Dec. 2
11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
On Saturday, the performances continue with roving acts. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Christmas Market will be open during that time, as well.

Where to Park
Parking is available along the streets in Biltmore Village and in surface lots. Festival organizers recommend parking in the garage next to Williams and Sonoma. The garage is located on Brook Street.
